1. Can Micro-Poise loadwheels be refurbished?
When customers notice reduced grip or slippage, they are encouraged to send the loadwheel back to Micro-Poise for evaluation. Our team will:
• Inspect the wheel for wear and surface degradation.
• Measure the flange thickness to determine if sufficient material remains for recoating.
• Proceed with recoating if the wheel meets the required specifications.
• Recommend replacement if the wheel is too worn for safe and effective refurbishment.
2. Can customers recoat loadwheels at their own facility?
No, loadwheel recoating must be performed exclusively by Micro-Poise. This process involves precise evaluation and specialized resurfacing techniques to restore the wheel’s abrasive coating, which is critical for maintaining proper tire grip during testing. Attempting to recoat the loadwheel outside of our facility may compromise its structural integrity and lead to inaccurate test results.
For optimal performance and safety, we strongly recommend sending the loadwheel to Micro-Poise for professional inspection and refurbishment. For more information, please contact us.
